The Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Road, plans to show "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," the first movie in a classic movie series, from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday. The movie is free and open to the public.

Dive for candy canes at Whitney Ranch Indoor Pool Saturday
Children ages 4 to 12 are invited to take part in a Candy Cane Hunt from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Whitney Ranch Indoor Pool, 1575 C Galleria Drive. Admission at the door is $1 per child.
The swimmer who finds the most candy canes wins a prize. Since the candy canes will be submerged, participating children must know how to swim. Parents must accompany children 8 or younger in the water and be within arm's reach at all times.

20 beds to jeffreys Street facility
HealthSouth Rehabilitation of Henderson announces the addition of 20 beds to its existing 70 beds at its location at 10301 Jeffreys St. The additional beds will provide patients with the option of a private or semiprivate room.
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson is an acute medical rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient and home health rehabilitation services. ST. ROSE makes DONATIONS
St. Rose Dominican Hospitals has announced plans to give $305,000 to 10 community organizations. This is the 19th year that St. Rose has made funding available.
To qualify for the funding, organizations must address the greatest health needs of the community, emphasize preventions to address the underlying case of the health problem, contribute to a seamless continuum of care, build upon and mobilize existing service in the community and engage diverse community stakeholders in implementation and oversight.
The organizations receiving the donations include Dr. Joel & Carol Bower School-Based Health Center, The Shade Tree, Southern Nevada Immunization & Health Coalition, Volunteers in Medicine, Easter Seals, American Heart Association, Saint Therese Center, Boulder City Lend a Hand, Boys & Girls Club of Henderson and Helping Hands of Vegas Valley.

BEST WESTERN PLUS OPENS IN HENDERSON
Best Western International announced the grand opening of the Best Western Plus Henderson Hotel, 1553 N. Boulder Highway.
The 3-year-old property was purchased in April and went through $150,000 worth of improvements. The hotel has a AAA 3 Diamond rating.
