KOKO FITCLUB RAISES MONEY FOR CANCER

Koko FitClub, 55 S. Valle Verde Drive, is scheduled to launch its “Koko 5 Million Point Challenge” campaign to support the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life starting Saturday.

From 8 a.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday, people are invited to participate in one or more 15-minute cardio sessions.

Each member who attends equals 500 points. If all locations nationwide reach 5 million points, the business plans to donate $20,000 to the American Cancer Society.

CHURCH to HOST EVENT FOR MOTHER’S DAY

Pianist Ray Conley is scheduled to play at 7:30 p.m. May 11 at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 9041 S. Pecos Road.

The event, which features the talents of classically trained musicians, is in honor of Mother’s Day.

Leadership Henderson has scheduled the graduation for its current class May 17. The group, which includes 13 graduates, is expected to celebrate at Leadership Henderson’s annual gala at 6 p.m. May 17 at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort, 101 Montelago Blvd.

The District at Green Valley Ranch, 2240 Village Walk Drive, is planning its second annual “Next Top Dog” photo contest.

Photos are expected to be accepted until today.

The winner is planned to be announced May 9.

HENDERSON SHINES ALLOWS residents
TO RECYCLE AND DROP OFF TRASH

Henderson Shines is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway.

The neighborhood cleanup allows residents to drop off items to be recycled, donated or disposed of.

People have the opportunity to safely dispose of items such as batteries, paint, cellphones or electronics.

Items donated are expected to go to Opportunity Village. Henderson District Public Libraries is planning to collect books in good condition.

FIREFIGHTERS SCHEDULE GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Henderson Professional Fire Fighters and the Henderson Fire Fighters Benevolent Association are scheduled to host the annual Jeff Mann Memorial Golf Tournament at 7 a.m. May 10 at Wildhorse Golf Club, 2100 W. Warm Springs Road.

Proceeds are expected to go to various charities such as S.A.F.E. House.
