Horizon Park promotes amenities

Centex Homes' Horizon Park in North Las Vegas provides homeowners with an array of neighborhood amenities, according to sales agent Marc Gonzalez.

"Horizon Park offers the winning combination that keeps people coming and buying," he said. "We're close to major shopping, newer schools and all of the freeways, plus we have the 11-acre Desert Horizons Park right in our backyard."

Covered playground equipment, horseshoe pits, soccer fields and bocce, basketball and tennis courts fill the city's Desert Horizons Park. The area also features walking trails, picnic areas and spaces for outdoor concerts and movies.

"We do our homework and are consistently the best- priced homes in the area," Gonzalez said.

Centex Homes ranked highest in customer satisfaction among new-home builders in Las Vegas in the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 New Home Customer Satisfaction StudySM. The study, which gauged opinions of consumers who purchased new homes in 2006, was based on 50,401 total responses in 34 markets and measured 18 builders in Clark County. The study results are based on experiences and perceptions of consumers surveyed from March through July 2007. For more information, visit jdpower.com.

Prospective buyers at Horizon Park can select from 11 floor plans in three neighborhoods -- Skydance, Wind Song and Whistling Breeze.

Skydance features three single-story floor plans and one two-story choice. Layouts range from 1,664 to 2,757 square feet with up to five bedrooms and three baths. Prices start in the mid-$200,000s.

Wind Song, a neighborhood of two-story homes, offers three floor plans measuring 2,294 to 2,945 square feet. Wind Song's layouts can accommodate up to six bedrooms and 41/2 baths. Homes are priced from the high $200,000s.

The largest floor plans are offered at Whistling Breeze. Priced from the high $200,000s, the neighborhood's four two-story floor plans offer 2,458 to 3,807 square feet. Home designs provide as many as seven bedrooms and 41/2 baths.

Standard features at Horizon Park include maple cabinets, cable TV and telephone prewiring in all bedrooms, and front-yard desert landscaping with automatic drip irrigation. Low-e windows, insulated gas water heaters and water-saver shower heads helped Horizon Park homes earn Energy Star certification, Gonzalez said.

Homes come with Centex Homes' Two-Year Fit and Finish Warranty, which extends the normal one-year coverage to two years at no extra cost, he said.

The builder offers incentive programs to educators, health care providers, firefighters and law enforcement personnel, as well as active, reserve, retired and veteran military members.

To visit, take Interstate 15, exit Cheyenne Avenue west, turn right on Simmons Street and proceed to Horizon Park on the corner of Simmons and Alexander Road.

Model homes are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Monday when they open at noon.
