KB to host open house in Anthem Highlands today

KB Home is hosting an open house at its Glengarry community in the Anthem Highlands, a master-planned community in Henderson, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. today and Sunday. Guests can enjoy a free lunch served from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

The two-story homes are priced from the $160,000s. Home shoppers have their choice of three floor plans with as many as five bedrooms, 2½ baths and two-car garages.

All homes include brick-paved driveways, two-car garages and flexible options. Select plans can be built with balconies or covered patios. One plan offers the option of a first-floor master bedroom suite.

The neighborhood has a community park.

All KB homes in Glengarry have earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star and NV Energy's Energy Plus certification. Features like programmable thermostats, radiant-barrier roof lining, low-emissivity windows and efficient heating and cooling systems help keep household utility bills low, according to company officials.

KB Home includes its energy performance guide in all of its new homes. Similar to a mpg sticker on cars, the epg provides homebuyers with estimated monthly electric and gas costs for their new home as designed.

The Glengarry sales center is at 2833 Culloden Ave. in Henderson. From the Las Vegas Beltway south, exit Eastern Avenue heading south, pass Sunridge Heights Drive, turn right on Sun City Anthem Parkway, right on Bicentennial Parkway and then left on Anthem Highlands Drive to the sales center ahead on the right. For more information, call 888-KB-HOMES or visit kbhome.com.

KB Home has delivered more than half a million homes for families since its founding in 1957. The Los Angeles-based company is distinguished by its Built to Order program that strives to provide a custom home experience to its homebuyers.

The homebuilder has been named the No. 1 Green Homebuilder in a study by Calvert Investments and the No. 1 Homebuilder on Fortune magazine's 2011 World's Most Admired Companies list.
