Lennar offers program for buyers

New homebuyer Aaron Jenkins has Lennar's Peace of Mind Mortgage Payment Protection Program.

Homebuyers across the nation are taking advantage of the program at select new-home communities nationwide which provides assistance to those who experience financial difficulty due to job loss.

Jenkins, as well as all qualified homeowners enrolled in the Peace of Mind Mortgage Payment Protection Program, benefit from as much as $1,800 per month for as much as six months of the homeowner's mortgage payments.

Combined with historically low interest rates, government tax credits and some of the lowest housing prices in a decade, the Peace of Mind program is sometimes the final incentive homebuyers need to feel secure with their purchase.

Jenkins, 23, recently purchased his first home in a Lennar neighborhood in Las Vegas. He is also planning to propose to his longtime girlfriend and living in his new home as a married couple.

"Instead of continuing to rent, I just figured I'd take advantage of the market, and I am so glad that I did," Jenkins said.

He had been looking at homes for several months but couldn't find something he liked.

Jenkins said he was attracted to Lennar's family oriented floor plans and the community's location, with close proximity to schools and a short commute to his job in law enforcement. In addition, the four-bedroom two-story home is equipped with stainless steel appliances, his and her vanities and a walk-in closet.

When the Lennar sales representative told him about the Peace of Mind program, Jenkins said it was the last incentive he needed and signed the purchase agreement the same day he saw the house.

"The combination of offers presented to me when purchasing the home made me feel secure in my purchase," he said.

"The Peace of Mind program was just the icing on the cake. A lot of people are losing their homes right now and this is just one less thing I have to worry about. I know that if something happens to me, I have six months to figure life out."

Like Jenkins, homebuyers across the region are taking advantage of this financial security program. Designed to help homeowners avoid foreclosure and to offer an extra safety net during job uncertainty, the Peace of Mind Mortgage Payment Protection Program gives buyers the security they need.

"We are trying to give homebuyers what they need most right now.

"Peace of mind that they will be secure in their homes, won't have to worry about making their house payment if they lose their job and have a back-up plan," said Jeff Galindo, Lennar vice president of sales.

"We want homebuyers to take advantage of the incredible prices, historically low interest rates and government tax credits, and also have the peace of mind that they'll be safe with their purchase."
