Lexus Of Henderson sponsors HopeLink charity golf tournament

Some lucky golfer could walk away with a free three-year lease of a 2014 Lexus IS 250 sedan, just for sinking a hole-in-one shot at HopeLink of Southern Nevada’s Driving for Hope charity golf classic June 10 at DragonRidge Country Club in Henderson.

The event is being hosted by Lexus of Henderson.

The 18-hole scramble includes a breakfast and barbecue lunch, awards and prizes and a silent auction where two golfers’ winning bids will guarantee them spots in the 2014 Lexus Champions for Charity golf tournament Dec. 10-14 at Pebble Beach Resorts in Pebble Beach, Calif.

There will also be the opportunity to compete for the $100,000 charity purse.

The Driving for Hope tournament kicks off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Cost is $175 per player with all proceeds going to HopeLink of Southern Nevada, a 501(c)3 organization with a mission to build a better community by preventing homelessness, keeping families intact and promoting self-sufficiency.

“I think that what Lexus is doing for HopeLink with The Champions for Charity will enable us to assist many families that are needing assistance in our community,” said Karen Kyger, executive director of HopeLink of Southern Nevada.

“Their (Lexus of Henderson) support of HopeLink means a great deal and raises our stature in the community. It is wonderful to be associated with such a high-end and notable product line,” she said.

Besides sponsoring the golf tournament, Lexus is also donating $500 to HopeLink. Kyger said HopeLink is actively looking for players to sign-up for the June tournament, but those interested in bidding for the two Pebble Beach golf spots need not play in the Henderson event to bid.

“I hope we get high bids because it will help our agency tremendously,” Kyger said. “I can guarantee that we will make the most of the donations we get to our organization.”

“We are very pleased to be the sponsor of this year’s Driving for Hope charity golf classic,” said Hosein Zand, general manager of Lexus of Henderson. “HopeLink of Southern Nevada is a wonderful organization doing vital work to prevent homelessness in our community. We encourage people to either sign up for the tournament or bid high for the two Pebble Beach golf spots so HopeLink will have sufficient funding to continue their work for many years to come.”
