Lowden pivots on Angle

This press release speaks volumes on how tight the GOP primary for U.S. Senate has become. Front runner Sue Lowden issued this press release this afternoon attacking Sharron Angle for voting herself a pay increase. You can read it below. But what it really says is that Angle is now her No. 1 GOP competitor. If the Lowden campaign wants to maintain the lead, it must pivot away from Reid and stiff-arm the surging Angle campaign.

Fact Check: Sharron Angle Voted for Pay Increases

This Morning on KNPR, Sharron Angle Denied She Voted For A Salary Increase While Serving in the Nevada State Assembly, Votes Substantiated by the State Record.

Sue Lowden for U.S. Senate Campaign Manager: Sharron invites Nevadans to support her based on her record. Therefore, they have a right to know the truth.

(Las Vegas, NV) — Today, Nevada businesswoman and U.S. Senate candidate Sue Lowden’s campaign responded to Sharron Angle denying on KNPR that she voted in favor of a salary increases while serving in the Nevada state Assembly.

“I am quite surprised by Sharron’s contradiction of her record as state Assemblywoman,” stated Robert Uithoven. “For years, campaign after campaign, Sharron has run on the motto of ‘Don’t read my lips, read my record.’ It is clearly stated in the Assembly record that Sharron voted to raise her pay not once, but twice, while serving in the state Assembly. Sharron invites Nevadans to support her based on her record. Therefore, they have a right to know the truth.”

Uithoven continued, “As a fiscal conservative, Sue has never voted to increase her salary. Further, while serving in the State Senate, she voted against a pay raise. During her tenure as Chairman of the Nevada Republican Party, Sue never took a dime for her services, including reimbursements. Sue Lowden strongly believes that elected officials should be serving for the good of the people, not for the government salary and pension plan. When elected Nevada’s next U.S. Senator, one of the first things Sue will do is work to stop the automatic pay increases Congress currently receives. Nevadans do not see their pay automatically increase, and Congress should be no exception.”

NOTE:

On Wednesday, Sharron Angle was asked by a listener on KNPR,“Sharron Angle, if you are so conservative, why did you vote to raise your own pay three times as a legislator in Nevada?” Sharron’s response: “I didn’t.” To listen to the exchange, click here.

Sue Lowden appeared on KNPR after Sharron Angle, and was subsequently asked by a listener about her fiscal conservatism. Listen to Sue’s interview here.
