Madeira Canyon becomes ‘oasis’

Vince and Mary Durocher said their home at The Club at Madeira Canyon is an oasis. The Pulte Homes development, situated at the southern end of Eastern Avenue, above the Las Vegas Valley, offers social programs and recreational amenities for all ages.

"We wanted a different lifestyle," Vince Durocher said. "We wanted to have a home where we would not have to have a pool, where we could just go down to the clubhouse and use the pool and other facilities."

Facilities at the club include full gym, massage rooms, game rooms, areas for social activities and basketball court. In addition, a full-time activities staff plans classes and group events.

"There are all types of activities for the homeowners. For example, I take part in a yoga class. If I want, I could call and schedule a massage at the club. They also plan social activities where residents can meet and get together," Mary Durocher said. "It is a wonderful environment and the views of the valley from the clubhouse are some of the best you can find."

The Durochers moved to the neighborhood from another Pulte Homes development. Even before they knew about The Club at Madeira Canyon, they were convinced their next home would be from the same builder.

"We are previous owners of another Pulte home and big proponents of Pulte," Mary Durocher said. "We really like the construction, the floor plans and the customer service. Their customer service is excellent."

Priced from the $600,000s, home designs range from 2,096 to 4,817 square feet.

On the Durochers' initial tour of the neighborhood the single-story Marbella floor plan had become available. The three-bedroom, three-bath home measures 2,829 square feet and includes a three-car garage. Built with smart-home technology, the Durochers' Marbella design offers an integrated electronic system with security cameras and sound system throughout.

The builder constructs its home designs with Environments for Living building technology. Blown-in cellulose insulation and dual-pane, vinyl framed low-e windows results in decreased internal and external contaminants, increased indoor air quality, decreased heating and cooling usage and increased comfort, durability, and tightness.

Amenities of the 487-acre Madeira Canyon master-planned community include walking trails, arroyo, parks with sports facilities and playgrounds and a site for an elementary school.

Additionally, Pulte Homes offers its Signature Standards, which includes numerous brand-name amenities as standard features. They include Corian solid surface countertops, York heating and air-conditioning systems, Mohawk flooring, Sherwin-Williams paint, Moen faucets, Kohler plumbing fixtures, G.E. appliances, Schlage door hardware, Sea Gull lighting and Zodiaq natural quartz surfaces.

To visit The Club at Madeira Canyon, take the southern portion of Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Eastern Avenue and go south, past St. Rose Parkway to Anthem Parkway, then turn left. Continue on Anthem about six miles, then make a left onto Bicentennial Parkway, a left onto Anthem Highlands Drive then follow the signs to the model park.
