Meritage executive said conditions good for buying new residence

Las Vegas Division President for Meritage Homes Robb Beville, said he has seen phenomenal growth in the new home market in the past decade and though we are entering a new phase, the Las Vegas native says right now is the time to buy.

"We are at a rare point in our history," Beville said. "Mortgage rates are usually down when home prices are high, or mortgage rates are low and housing prices are higher. They rarely happen at the same time. In the current market, we have unprecedented lower new home pricing and historically low interest rates. It's time to take advantage of both."

Meritage Homes is responding to what has become a buyer's market with lower pricing and buyers' incentives, he said.

Located within the new southwestern portion of the Las Vegas Valley, Meritage Homes' Watermarke at Mountain's Edge offers condominiums ranging from 1,085 to 1,549 square feet. Pricing begins from the low $200,000s.

The builder's Summer Trail neighborhood, also within Mountain's Edge, is a gated subdivision of two-story homes. They feature six bedrooms and up to four baths with two- and three-car tandem garages, priced from the upper $300,000s.

Yellowstone at Mountain's Edge by Meritage Homes is a community of five neighborhoods anchored by a staffed residents clubhouse with three pools, spa, fitness center, barbecue area, basketball court and children's playground.

Located at the base of the Spring Mountains in North Las Vegas, Geyser Peak is in its close-out phase. Priced from the mid-$300,000s, the homes range from 2,022 to up to 2,865 square feet.

In the northwestern portion of the valley within the 1,200-acre Providence master plan, Northern Terrace features four neighborhoods with homes priced from the low $200,000s. Ranging from 1,320 to up to 3,028 square feet, the community's 15 model homes are centered by a $3.5 million dollar residents' clubhouse.

Scheduled to open in early September, the Club at Northern Terrace will include three swimming pools with spa, fitness center, outdoor barbecue area, full kitchen and party room, big-screen television and children's playground.

The home builder plans to open four new neighborhoods in the Henderson master-planned community, Inspirada, this spring, and will debut three new neighborhoods in the Kyle Canyon master plan, Beville said.

Model homes and sales offices are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Monday when they open at 11 a.m.
