More high school recruits descend upon UNLV

At least nine players are visiting UNLV this weekend, including two who have committed to play football for the Rebels.

Here is the listing in alphabetical order:

— Defensive end Dominic Baldwin (6 feet 6 inches, 235 pounds), Righetti High School, Santa Maria, Calif. Visited Fresno State last weekend.

— Offensive lineman Tom Clarkson (6-6, 290), The Mission Secondary School, Mission, British Columbia. Committed to UNLV. Also received scholarship offers from Washington State and Montana.

— Quarterback Hassan Henderson (6-4, 200), Las Vegas High. Rivals.com three-star recruit and No. 6 prospect in the state. Rushed for 642 yards and seven touchdowns, and completed 64 percent of his passes for 1,459 yards, with 18 touchdowns and five interceptions.

— Defensive tackle Charles Howard (6-5, 295), Lincoln High, Stockton, Calif.

— Linebacker Trent Langham (6-3, 205), Pacifica High, Garden Grove, Calif.

— Safety Matt Lea (5-11, 195), Central High, Fresno, Calif. Committed to UNLV. Scout.com No. 118 safety in the nation.

— Safety Marc Philippi (5-11, 205), Bishop Gorman High. Navy, Montana and Northern Arizona also offered scholarships. Rivals 3-star recruit and state's No. 5 prospect.

— Offensive lineman Ron Scoggins (6-4, 300), Gorman. Fresno State and San Jose State also offered scholarships, and he visited both schools. Rivals three-star recruit, No. 4 prospect in the state, and No. 42 guard in the nation.

— Linebacker Xavier Stephens (6-2, 220), Tulare (Calif.) Union High. UNR offered a scholarship. Scout No. 78 middle linebacker in the nation.
