Mountain’s Edge to hold free event
Country music favorite Chris Cagle, rising star Chris Janson, and the popular local Tony Marques Band will headline the seventh Country in the Park outdoor concert and festival on May 11.
Presented by Mountain’s Edge, a master-planned community in the southwestern valley, and KWNR-FM (95.5), the free event will be held from 2-8 p.m. at the amphitheater in the community’s Exploration Park at 9275 S. Buffalo Drive.
“The Tony Marques Band opens the show from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by Janson from 5 to
5:45 p.m., and culminating with Cagle from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Additionally, the event features a beer garden, food vendors and variety of booths and exhibits.
The 80-acre park offers a replica of an Old West village, play structures, archeological dig area, splash pad, picnic areas and the 2,846-foot-tall Exploration Peak with hiking and cycling trails and panoramic views.
Cagle’s self-proclaimed version of “redneck rock ’n’ roll” has been firing up people for more than a decade. He has two gold albums, two No. 1 albums and 12 charted songs. One of his first No. 1 smash hits was “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out,” and his current album “Back In The Saddle” has 11 new tracks and the hit single “Got My Country On.”
A singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Janson recently released single, “Better I Don’t,” will be featured on his debut full-length album, expected later this year. Among his songwriting efforts, he co-wrote Tim McGraw’s fastest-rising single, “Truck Yeah.”
Marques will be joined by new musicians this year. Since February, the band has packed houses at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill at Harrah’s and Margaritaville Restaurant and Bar at the Flamingo.
The 3,500-acre master-planned community has been ranked as the country’s No. 5 fastest-selling master-planned community in the U.S. by leading independent real estate advisory firms.
