MOVIES: ‘Dive In’ flicks are so money, baby

Mandalay Bay cut way down on live concerts on its Mandalay Beach stage this summer. But locals and nonhotel guests still have a chance to surf the wave pool, thanks to an outdoor “Dive In Movie” series.
Friday brings “Swingers,” the 1996 comedy that popularized the retro-swing movement and includes a Las Vegas casino sequence that ranks among the city’s finest cinematic moments.
Admission is free but restricted to those 21 and over. You can bring your swimsuits and towels, but you have to buy food and drinks there instead of taking your own cooler. Doors open at 8 p.m. with the movie at 9 p.m.
The rest of the schedule offers “Old School” on Sept. 5, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” on Sept. 12, “Pulp Fiction” on Sept. 19 and “American Pie” on Sept. 26.
