MOVIES: Doin’ the ‘Watchmen’ Fandango …

  With "Watchmen" fanboy frenzy reaching a fever pitch — the comic-book (excuse me, graphic novel) adaptation arrives in theaters one minute after midnight Friday — the online ticketing service Fandango is getting a workout, warning moviegoers "Don't Get Sold Out!"
  Indeed, the Fandango folks estimated Wednesday that 90 percent of their advance ticket sales were for the R-rated "Watchmen," which is reportedly plenty heavy on the sex and ultra-violence as its costumed crimefighters go into action.
  Costumed, that is, except for the blue, nude Dr. Manhattan (played by Billy Crudup). Lest impressionable ticket-buyers get a glimpse of the godlike doc going the full Manhattan, however, the Fandango folks have outfitted the good doc with Speedo-style swim trunks, obviously applied after-the-fact to conceal his original equipment.
