MOVIES: Dude alert! Surf movie cresting

As part of the ongoing denial that Las Vegas is actually in a desert, champion surfer Garrett McNamara hosts a premiere of his new film “Out There” on Saturday at Green Valley Ranch. The documentary delivers an environmental message along with footage of McNamara in action.
The film will be projected poolside, with hula dancers before the screening and a reggae band playing later. The 7 p.m. event for those 21 and older is a benefit for Make a Difference Las Vegas and the Surfrider Foundation. General admission is $45 in advance, $55 at the door, or $75 advance/ $85 at the door for a VIP ticket that includes a special seating area, drinks and appetizers. Call 617-7777 for tickets or cabana reservations.
