MUSIC: The Killers debut in Top 10
December 3, 2008 - 2:22 pm
The Killers didn’t quite knock ’em dead to the extent that they did last time out, though the band’s new record still has notched strong first week sales.
Moving 193,000 copies, the band’s third disc, “Day & Age,” enters the “Billboard” album chart at No. 6.
Of course, this is down from the numbers posted by The Killers’ last record, 2006’s “Sam’s Town,” which sold 315,000 units in its first week to debut at No. 2.
The band faced some tough competition this time out, though, going up against new releases from Kanye West, Ludacris and Guns N’ Roses long-awaited “Chinese Democracy.”
The album did debut at No. 1 in the U.K., however.
