The Las Vegas Little Theatre, 3920 Schiff Drive, is looking for volunteers to usher in its fall productions. “It Runs in the Family” is scheduled through Nov. 17 on the Mainstage. BANK OF AMERICA INITIATIVE PLANNED TO BENEFIT VETERANS SUPPORT GROUPS

Bank of America has announced a fundraising initiative, Express Your Thanks, to benefit veterans of the Wounded Warrior Project and Welcome Back Veterans, an initiative of Major League Baseball Charities.

The project’s goal is to raise $1 million for these charities. Running through Veterans Day (Nov. 11), anyone can participate by taking a photo, creating a video or writing a message of support and sharing it on bankofamerica.com/troopthanks. They also can post on Twitter with the hashtag #troopthanks. For every message posted, Bank of America will donate $1 to Wounded Warriors and Welcome Back Veterans.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada’s 42nd annual Boys Nite Out is scheduled from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Lied Memorial Boys & Girls Club, 2850 Lindell Road.

The event pairs boys from the club with men from the community to play games, eat a meal and win prizes. Each male community member must pay a $50 fee to participate. All members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada are admitted free.

OPPORTUNITY VILLAGE TO HOST ANNUAL SANTA RUN DEC. 7

Opportunity Village is set to host the ninth annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run at 8 a.m. Dec. 7. The race is scheduled to start at the Fremont Street Experience and include live entertainment, food, costume contests and celebrity appearances.

Participants will be competing across the world for the title of World Santa Challenge Champion. The friendly challenge competes with other Santa runs to see which race can accrue the most participants. During its nine years of existence, Las Vegas has won the title eight times.

Participants can register individually for $40 or as a team for $35 per runner. Children can register for $25. A Santa costume is included.

NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION SEEKS PET FOSTER FAMILIES

Foreclosed Upon Pets, a nonprofit organization that rescues animals that have been abused or abandoned as a result of economic hardship, is searching for foster families for dogs and cats. Volunteers must provide the pet with a safe and secure environment with basic training. Families must also transport the animal to weekly adoptions and events and provide the organization with regular updates.

Solari Hospice Care, 5550 S. Jones Blvd., is looking for volunteers to aid with day-to-day operations and patient well-being.

Volunteers bring companionship to people in the final months and weeks of life, often when people find themselves cut off from the community, isolated and alone. They bring respite to family caregivers who are caring for dying loved ones. Sometimes volunteers share a special knowledge or hobby, such as speaking a second language or playing music. Solari also uses volunteers to answer phones, assist with receptionist duties or perform light secretarial work.
