New general manager named at Planet Hyundai Centennial
January 4, 2013 - 2:08 am
Mark Chernine, a 31-year veteran of the automobile industry, has accepted the position of general manager of Centennial Hyundai.
In accepting the position, Chernine pointed to several determining factors in his decision to leave his 13-year position with another highly regarded dealership that concentrates on high-end vehicles.
"Hyundai has a stellar reputation," he said. "The countless awards the company has won because of its quality create a combination that I'm proud to represent."
He said he also appreciated that the dealership is family-owned and operated, and that Hyundai's 10-year, 100,000-mile engine warranty and five-year 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty is included with each new vehicle sold.
"When people purchase a Hyundai, they know that they are purchasing a top-rated vehicle for a very affordable price," he said.
Chernine said his new position offers an interesting comparison to his many years selling high-end vehicles.
"Believe me, I have sold other vehicles for as much as $530,000, and I am now driving a Hyundai Equus that is priced at about $60,000 - and the car is absolutely remarkable."
Chernine said he has an interesting philosophy about the car business.
"I have never sold a car in my four decades of working in the car business. However, I have helped thousands of people purchase their vehicles. That mindset creates an atmosphere of helping someone rather than selling someone."
Chernine invites his friends and past clients to visit the dealership or call him personally. The dealership is at 6200 Centennial Center Blvd. in the northwest valley.
