No Rebels picked for all-conference football team

No UNLV players were named to the first- or second- All-Mountain West Conference football team, which was released today.

Junior defensive back Will Chandler and senior offensive lineman Matt Murphy received honorable-mention honors.

League champion Texas Christian (12-0), which is ranked No. 3, dominated the all-conference teams and major awards. Nine Horned Frogs made the first team, and five were on second team. Also, senior quarterback Andy Dalton was named Offensive Player of the Year, junior linebacker Tank Carder was chosen Defensive Player of the Year, and senior return specialist Jeremy Kerley was the Special Teams Player of the Year.

San Diego State, which is 8-4, won the two other major awards. Running back Ronnie Hillman was Freshman of the Year, and Brady Hoke was Coach of the Year.
