EDUCATION

Roseman University of Health Sciences named Mark A. Penn founding dean of the university’s allopathic College of Medicine, in development at its Summerlin campus. Penn will also serve as chancellor of the campus, which houses Roseman’s medical research programs.

FINANCE

Nevada State Bank named Jill Bell human resources director and Thomas Elmer executive vice president and chief credit officer. Bell will oversee the bank’s human resources, training and development teams. Elmer will oversee credit administration, including loan approvals, risk grading, loan servicing, special assets, construction disbursement and appraisals.

Clark County Credit Union promoted Lena Lloyd to financial services representative. Lloyd will handle consumer loan counseling, new accounts, extended repair coverage and debt cancellation coverage.

Bank of Nevada was selected as Corporation of the Year by The Urban Chamber of Commerce for the bank’s sponsorship and work with NxLevel, a provider of entrepreneurial training to launch or expand a business. Through generous donations and assistance from Bank of Nevada, the training is made available to small-business owners and others at about a third of the cost.

LAW

Snell & Wilmer attorney Leon F. Mead II was appointed to serve on the Nevada Lawyer Editorial Board of the State Bar of Nevada and hired attorneys Bradley Austin, Jennifer Luiña, Morgan Petrelli and Justin A. Shiroff.

Lewis Roca Rothgerber partner John Krieger was appointed to the board of trustees for the Justice League of Nevada by the State Bar of Nevada’s Board of Governors.

Forstadt Law Group welcomed new attorney Matthew J. Forstadt, formerly of Kolesar & Leatham. Forstadt holds the coveted AV rating from Martindale Hubbell and was selected as one of the Top Lawyers of Vegas for 2013.

Candace Carlyon of Carlyon Law Group PLLC was named president of the American Board of Certification of Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights Attorneys.

Lionel Sawyer & Collins attorneys were recognized as “Top Lawyers in Nevada” by Super Lawyers. Jeffrey Zucker, chairman of the firm’s business law department and Robert Faiss, chairman of the gaming and regulatory law department, have been listed among the Top 100 Lawyers in the Mountain States Super Lawyers. Jennifer Smith, Malani Kotchka, Linda Bullen, Laura Thalacker and Ellen Whittemore are included in the Top 50 Women Attorneys in the Mountain States region.

Nathan Adelson Hospice promoted Nora Luna to director of diversity and education and Helina Whitney to inpatient director.

The Goodwill of Southern Nevada board of directors named its executive board for 2014: George Garcia of G.C. Garcia, president; John Grady of S.T.A. Consulting, vice president; Penny J. Mendlovic of CBRE, secretary; and Joshua R. Dobbins of Bradshaw, Smith & Co., treasurer.
