EV&A Architects named Matthew Burns vice president. As part owner of EV&A, Burns brings more than 12 years experience in commercial and industrial projects.

FINANCE

Nevada State Bank appointed Karla Perez to its board of directors. Perez serves as the regional vice president of seven hospitals within the western region of Universal Health Services.

City National Bank named Joe Laiacona vice president and manager of its Tropicana banking center. Laiacona has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.

FINE ARTS

The Modern Contemporary Art Museum named Melanie Coffee project manager. Coffee has held positions in UNLV’s Marjorie Barrick Museum, The Neon Museum and Liberace Foundation.

GOVERNMENT

Jennifer Carleton, a shareholder at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, has been appointed to the Henderson Charter Committee.

HOSPITALITY

Doug Ward, chief concierge at Mandalay Bay and an art of concierge instructor at The International School of Hospitality, has been named president of the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association.

Primm Valley Casino Resorts promoted Stuart Richey to vice president and general manager. A 20-year casino executive, Richey has worked at Bally’s, Paris Las Vegas, Stardust and Stratosphere.

LAW

Williamson Law Office PLLC named Rut J. Laureano associate attorney. Laureano will focus on the firm’s business litigation, family law and immigration practice areas.

Armstrong Teasdale Las Vegas office administrator Tara Baugh has been elected to the board of directors for the Las Vegas Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators.

NONPROFIT

Jeffrey R. Gordon, president and CEO of Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, has been named by the Southern Highlands Charitable Foundation as one of the 2014 Governor’s Philanthropists of the Year. Over the past 15 years, Gordon has led the NCCF in the development of more than 30 programs and services.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

SK+G promoted Niki Reid to public relations account executive. Reid leads the publicity strategy for The Modern Contemporary Art Museum, Golf Summerlin, Cantina Laredo and JBA Consulting Engineers. The firm also named Nikki Neu public relations account executive and social media strategist, and Krystle Anttonelli public relations assistant account executive.

REAL ESTATE

Colliers International – Las Vegas hired Susan Borst as a vice president in the company’s industrial division and a partner within the firm’s Doherty Industrial Group. Borst, who was a member of the Colliers International team earlier in her career, began in commercial real estate more than 20 years ago, starting with Harsch Investment Properties.
