Otters play keyboard in zoo enrichment program

It’s a win-win situation when a program designed to help animals results in adorable videos.

More specifically, it’s a win-win for these adorable otters exploring a keyboard. Well, not so much as exploring as blowing Chopin out of the water.

The Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C. gives Asian small-clawed otters access to a keyboard twice a month in order to “demonstrate their species-typical behavior, to allow them exercise control or choice over their environment, and to enhance their well-being.”

Even if you’ve taken years of piano lessons, the song they produce together will leave you in awe. As in, “awe-dorable.”
