Parmida Home store settles into Tivoli Village

Las Vegas residents searching for home interior inspiration have a new place to flock.
Parmida Home recently opened its first Las Vegas store at Tivoli Village, 400 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 180. A grand opening was held July 14.
The Saturday event enjoyed heavy traffic from weekend visitors and the farmers market, but shoppers had been checking it out since late June.
"It reminds me of a store in Florida," said Rebecca Hoffman of Summerlin. "It's more of an East Coast-type store, which makes me feel good. It's elegant, it's nice, it's spacious and it's classy."
First impressions are very important. Parmida Home's starts with a whiff of fragrance upon opening the door.
"The ambience, when you first walked in, it was very inviting," said Summerlin resident Marsha Grodin.
Store manager Nansee Junis said, "We're all about lifestyle, and to an individual's lifestyle, whatever it is, we want to be something for everybody. You can come here and just run in for a gift, or you can do your entire home."
Displays are set up to keep one browsing farther into the store. Oil lamps in tall glass containers were filled with oil, each decorated with something from nature -- butterflies, flowers, seashells -- all floating in the oil. Small sizes start at $55.
The store offers 28 flavors of tea and has created its own line of coffee, both ground and in beans, starting at $12.99. The back area is set up to offer coffee samples, served in some of the chinaware it carries.
This is the first two-story store for Parmida Home. The square footage is 10,800. Take the elevator upstairs, and you'll find where most of the furniture is displayed. As with furniture stores, the space is divided with freestanding walls to define specific rooms. Turn a corner, and you're in a dining room. Turn another corner, and you're in a den. Everything is staged, including dishes on the table and stemware waiting for the wine to pour. The color-coordinated wall decorations and even the lighting is for sale.
Dinec is one of the furniture companies with a line exclusive to Parmida Las Vegas.
"Something nice about the furniture lines that we select, they are definitely higher-end designer lines and very custom," said Todd Esquivel, assistant store manager. "So you can take this dining table, for example, and do 20 different finishes and about eight or 10 different legs styles, change the apron and on and on."
Despite such changes, Parmida Home guarantees delivery in four to six weeks. Esquivel said the store was looking forward to working with the interior design community.
Feizy, known for its innovative and varied line of fibers, offers a selection of conversation space rugs throughout the store that can be custom-sized.
"People who know quality know Feizy rugs," Junis said.
Junis has a background in marketing and special events. Since the store's opening, she's been busy working with corporate and with local charities, planning events that will spotlight the different organizations. The store will also have a part in some of Tivoli Village's Wine Away Wednesdays.
"Las Vegas people like unique, boutique-y kind of things," Junis said. "I'm sure our corporate (took that into consideration)."
