Monday was contract-renewal day. Penn and Teller signed a six-year contract extention at the Rio, the hotel announced.
Plus, Celine Dion officially added 37 summer dates to her gig at Caesars Colosseum.
And Caesars’ Matt Goss has new show dates through June 2013. He’s putting out a new album this month.
Meanwhile, George Wallace said he is offering free tickets to first responders who can show an active cop, firefighter or emergency I.D.
SIGHTINGS: Olympian Apolo Ohno took a group of seven to eat at Andrea’s at the Wynn on Sunday. What does an Olympian eat? Edamame, shishito peppers, hamachi, salmon tartar, wagyu beef tataki, white lotus, wagyu beef sliders and shrimp burdock roll. … "Glee’s" Dot-Marie Jones saw "Rock of Ages" twice this weekend.
TUESDAY’S PAGE 3A COLUMN
Check out my interview in Tuesday’s Review-Journal with Michael Boychuck, hairstylist to the stars. He talks about Britney’s bald-head period, why curly-headed women have got it going on, and his picks for the best hairdos at the Grammys. (That’s Playmate Jayde Nicole in the photo.)
Here’s a bonus bit I couldn’t fit into the column: Boychuck (known for his Color salon in Caesars, and a new spot in Summerlin) cuts his friend Vince Neil’s hair. And Vince is fun, because he doesn’t demand specific cuts.
“He wants things in a really artistic way. He’s like, ‘OK, I just want it to be brighter this time,’ (or) I want to see more contrasts.”
I don’t know why, but I get a kick out of thinking of Motley Crue rocker Vince Neil sitting in a chair asking for hair contrast.
And if you see Boychuck at a party, he will think about how your style could be better. I asked him if he judges everyone’s hair at parties.
“‘Judging’ is a tough word,” he said. “It’s more like admiring – how can I enhance this more? … If somebody has roots, you’re like, ‘Aw man, they could have come in, and I could have touched that up, and they’d look perfect today. We could make it more exciting for her, and she could have so much fun.’”
