Pardee helps provide transitional housing

HomeAid Southern Nevada, Newland Communities and Pardee Homes of Nevada, along with several of the builders' longtime subcontractors, have joined forces to refurbish five transitional apartment units at the corner of Adams Avenue and E Street for Lutheran Social Services. The units will house families in transition who are currently residing in local shelters.

Over the past six weeks, each unit has been completely gutted and renovated with fresh paint (inside and out), brand new bathtubs and toilets, new kitchens and cabinets, new flooring, new GE appliances and furniture from former Pardee model homes. Pardee and its subcontractors have provided more than $70,000 in manpower and materials. Newland Communities gave an additional $11,000 grant to make the project a reality. The renovation value is estimated at about $100,000.

Several Pardee Homes' subcontractors assisted in the project, including: Alexander's Masonry Inc., Cabinet West Distribution, Cal/Pac Painting of Nevada, C&D Construction Services, Cedco Inc., Cedco Iron, Cooper Roofing, Frazee Paint, Ferguson Enterprises, General Electric Co., Hutchins Drywall, Interior Specialists Inc., Pioneer Plumbing Inc., Premier Installation, Quality Interiors Inc., SBS Construction Services of Nevada, ServPro of Southwest Las Vegas, Sierra Air Conditioning Inc., Slater Hanifan Group, Statewide Lighting Center Inc., Sterling Plumbing, Sunrise Carpentry Inc. and Washout Systems LLC.
