From 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, individuals of every age can try out the new 36,000-square-foot SkyView YMCA, 3050 E. Centennial Parkway, for free. There will be family activities, bounce houses, classes and the debut of Les Mills BODYPUMP. Grand opening prizes are set to include Y memberships, swim lessons, sports items and an iPad2. Anyone who joins the Y on Saturday can enroll with no joining fee and receive a free program, a $150 value.

BOWLING EVENT TO SUPPORT
CHILDREN WITH CANCER

The Cure 4 the Kids Foundation plans to host a Bowl-A-Thon at 1 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Suncoast Bowling Center, 9090 Alta Drive.

The foundation supports the Children's Specialty Center of Nevada, the state's only nonprofit pediatric cancer outpatient treatment center.

Bowl-A-Thon to benefit S.A.F.E. House

Desert H.O.P.E. Inc. is sponsoring its sixth annual Bowl-A-Thon to benefit S.A.F.E. House from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at South Point Bowling Center, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Bring a $20 donation or $20 in pledges to bowl. The public is welcome.
