Reid cuts short Senate break
June 30, 2011 - 5:47 am
WASHINGTON - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid today announced that the Senate will cut short its Fourth of July break and return to work next Tuesday.
Speaking on the Senate floor this morning, the Nevada Democrat said that there are too many important issues to tackle "to waste even a moment."
Rather than take off the week, the Senate will be back on Tuesday.
The announcement comes a day after President Barack Obama chided Congress for being out of session as the nation rapidly approaches an Aug. 2 deadline when the federal government will reach its debt limit.
