Reid dismisses public polls, suggests internals are rosier and more accurate

At a press conference in Washington today, Sen. Harry Reid brushed off a question why the powerful Senate majority leader has been unable to put space in the polls between himself and his challenger, even as some Republicans concede Sharron Angle is out of the mainstream.
Three polls released today show Reid and Angle continue to run neck and neck. Reid dismissed them.
"I am not going to get into a battle of the polls here," he said.
He suggested that his internal campaign polls, conducted by Democratic consultant Mark Mellman, are painting a rosier, and more accurate, picture for him.
Mellman, Reid said, "is one of the finest pollsters in America. I am satisfied with where I am in the polls today."
