Rhodes keeps families in the ‘Fun Zone’

Rhodes Ranch is targeting families by offering daily activities for children of all ages. The builder aims to provide arts and crafts as well as a water park at the master-planned community located in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley.

"As a developer, we understand we're not just building houses," said Ryan Soucie, director of sales for Rhodes Homes. "We're helping families build a life and a home. And the heart of our community is the R-Club recreation center, where every person who lives here can find something fun, educational or rewarding to do."

Among the children's activities offered at the R-Club are arts and crafts classes for toddlers every weekday morning. Led by resident and R-Club programs and events manager Virginia Kaplan, toddlers learn to make their own projects that are displayed throughout the building.

Regular special events are offered for children of all ages, including an upcoming Hop Into Spring event, a PawFest and an American Idol-style talent show.

The Fun Zone water park at Rhodes Ranch is a 13,000-square-foot lagoon pool with wading areas, a 10,000-square-foot water park with three speed slides, five kid slides, rope bridges, multiple squirt gun stations and a 1,000-gallon bucket that fills and tips over every five minutes.

It also includes a 25-meter lap pool, two eight-person spas, a 12-person group spa, four large covered cabanas, one exterior lighted basketball court, two sand volleyball courts, four lighted tennis courts and a children's playground with activity structures.

Activities are held inside the 35,000-square-foot R-Club recreation center daily. It houses a great room featuring multiple seating areas, a baby grand piano and a television viewing area. The R-Club also hosts daily card games and fitness classes. Residents older than 16 can get together in the billiards room with six tables and options for ping pong.

"Fitness is an important part of our residents' lives, so the R-Club includes an indoor workout facility with weights and cardiovascular equipment, a full-length basketball court and two racquetball/handball courts," Soucie said.

Residents can participate in group classes including Pilates, yoga, kickboxing, total body conditioning and circuit training in a group exercise room. Personal trainers are also available by appointment to help homeowners create health and fitness programs.

"And after they work out, they can relax in the library and read one of hundreds of books donated by residents," Soucie said.

Home prices at Rhodes Ranch start in the mid-$200,000s.

"There is no other community in southwest Las Vegas that offers so much for such a reasonable price," Soucie said. "In addition to the fantastic amenities for families, residents have access to the award-winning Rhodes Ranch Golf Club as well as miles of walking paths right outside their front doors every day."

The Rhodes Ranch Golf Club has become a golf destination in Las Vegas. Designed by renowned architect Ted Robinson, the par-72 course was named a Best Value by Vegas Golfer magazine and envelops players in its lush tropical surroundings.

Rhodes Homes has built more than 6,000 homes in the Valley during the past two decades and is developing 16 neighborhoods in the area.

To visit Rhodes Ranch, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Durango Drive, and then go south to Rhodes Ranch Parkway. Sales offices are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
