Road rage leads to man fatally shooting another man in front of family

A man was charged with murder after fatally shooting another man in a Florida road rage incident.

Police in Citrus County, Fla., said Robert Doyle shot and killed Candelario Gonzalez last week in what started as a road rage incident, WFSB reported. Doyle, in a truck, said in a 911 call Gonzalez was trying to run him off the road.

"I have a truck. Some maniac ... trying to follow, trying to run me off the road," Doyle said. He told 911 he had a gun "cocked and loaded."

When Gonzalez got out of his vehicle, Doyle's wife took the phone and told the dispatcher Doyle fired multiple times. Police said he held Gonzalez' wife and children hostage until police arrived.

Doyle was charged with second-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault. He was released on $60,000 bond.
