Road Trip! Las Vegans spend Friday night in Cayucos
February 4, 2011 - 7:19 pm
Day three brought a welcome respite from driving. Spent all day in the Cayucos area.
The morning featured a tasting at L'Aventure Winery. John F, a regular commentor, recommended it ... and I'm glad he did. The wine suited my palate ... and flattened my wallet.
We then explored the town of Paso Robles. Charming place with a very good olive oil shop featuring regionally grown and produced wares.
In the afternoon we did some sightseeing in the village of Cambria, at the suggestion of Kirk, another reader. Beautiful. I see why your dad retired there, Kirk.
And finally we trekked north to a beach populated by elephant seals. Spectacular. Can't remember who recommended that, but it's a "must see" deal.
Although our bed and breakfast is in the middle of the "Strip" of downtown Cayucos, these Las Vegans plan an early night. Gotta be in Napa Saturday afternoon. Thanks again for reading.
