Rock jock Culotta dies

Mike Culotta, who died earlier this week, was one of the good guys in the local radio zoo. He was a local star at KOMP before moving over to KXPT 97.1 The Point.

Rock radio station deejays across the dial were on Friday morning lamenting his departure. A nice audio tribute from his colleagues is in the 97.1 website.

Culotta was 48 and died after a lengthy battle against an undisclosed illness.

He was a good guy. I’ll pass on the “Stairway to Heaven” jokes.
