Rumble over immigration enforcement
June 18, 2010 - 1:34 pm
Senior Obamacrats are now confirming to CBS News what Hilliary Clinton blurted out a couple of weeks ago on Ecuadorean TV -- the Justice Department will, in fact, sue the state of Arizona over its new law designed to enforce federal laws on illegal immigration.
Get ready for a monumental confrontation.
On one side we'll have ideologues Barack Obama and Eric Holder, who made their minds up on Arizona's bill before they read Arizona's bill. They are also pretty much on record saying they don't particularly like existing federal immigration law and advocate "comprehensive immigration reform", which for most liberals means amnesty.
On the other, you'll have the American people and a highly ticked off state that can show beyond a shadow of a doubt that the federal government has fundamentally failed to enforce existing immigration laws. That failure resulted in material harm to the citizens of Arizona.
