Salaburu eliminated in eighth place at the World Series of Poker, wins $971,360

Robert Salaburu of San Antonio, Texas was eliminated in eighth place in the Main Event of the World Series of Poker and earned $971,360.

Salaburu, who began the day in seventh place, had battled into fourth in the early action. However, by the 65th hand he was fading and moved all-in with a pair of sevens. Jesse Sylvia of Las Vegas called holding a queen of clubs, five of clubs.

The flop and turn cards brought neither player any help. But a queen of hearts on the river ended Salaburu’s tournament.

The hand gave Sylvia more than 55 million in chips and a commanding lead.
