Shark killed in accident on Florida freeway

A shark was killed in a traffic accident when the truck carrying the fish crashed on a Florida interstate.

Authorities told the Associated Press the accident happened when a tractor-trailer carrying four sharks blew a tire and ran off the road. The sharks were being driven to New York City from Marathon, Florida.

All four sharks were being held in different containers in the tractor-trailer. A container was damaged in the crash, killing one of the sharks.

The remaining sharks, which will be held at SeaWorld until a new transportation effort can be arranged, and three passengers were not injured.
