SHOOTING STARS EXTRA: Lunch & Learn on Wednesday
February 4, 2011 - 11:48 am
The state of the Silver State's filmmaking scene? That's definitely food for thought.
And it's on the menu at the next Nevada Film Alliance "Lunch & Learn" get-together, scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Bollywood Grill, 6840 W. Sahara Ave.
Attendees will chew on Nevada's production industry in general, plus such specific topics as writing, producing, directing, casting and crewing. There's no charge to attend, other than paying your own way for lunch (which includes a $10 buffet as well as off-the-menu choices).
Click on www.meetup.com/nevadafilm/ for more information or to RSVP; the latter isn't necessary, however, according to NFA director Marko Sakren, who says it's OK to just show up if you'd like to join the lunch bunch.
Sakren, a local filmmaker, plans to organize weekly lunches at a variety of venues; attendance at previous Nevada Film Alliance sessions has ranged from three to 35. Stay tuned to Shooting Stars, Mondays in the Review-Journal, for news of future Nevada Film Alliance doings.
