Steljes Cardiology receives accreditation
May 2, 2012 - 7:30 am
Steljes Cardiology, a practice based in Henderson, received accreditation in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission.
Steljes Cardiology said in a statement that IAC accreditation is a “seal of approval” that shows the facility has been critiqued on all aspects of its operations considered relevant by a panel medical experts in the fields of echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
Echocardiography refers to the process of taking a sonogram of the heart. It is routinely used in the diagnosis, management and follow-up of patients with any suspected or known heart diseases and is one of the most widely used diagnostic tests in cardiology. Nuclear medicine is a specialty involving the application of radioactive substances in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The skill of the technologist performing the examination, the type of equipment used, the background and knowledge of the interpreting physician and quality assurance measures are each critical to the delivery of quality nuclear medicine.
Steljes Cardiology is a privately owned, full service cardiology practice, diagnostic sleep center and clinical research center. The Steljes Health Heart Sleep Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and is dedicated to the practice and research of sleep medicine. For more information, visit www.steljescardiology.com.
