The Paradise Town Advisory Board has scheduled its biweekly meeting for 7 p.m. today at the Paradise Recreation and Community Services Center, 4775 S. McLeod Drive.

The Winchester Town Advisory Board has scheduled its biweekly meeting for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.

The Whitney Town Advisory Board has scheduled its biweekly meeting for 6 p.m. Thursday at the Whitney Recreation Center, 5712 E. Missouri Ave.

The Sunrise Manor Town Advisory Board has scheduled its biweekly meeting for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hollywood Recreation and Community Services Center, 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd.

All Day Skate planned

An All Day Skate is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Friday at Crystal Palace, 4680 Boulder Highway. Admission is $8 for participants who provide their own skates or $9 with skates included.

A meal special also is planned from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. that includes two slices of pizza, a soft drink and four video game tokens.

Speedway event set to include demolition derby

The Whelen Night at the Races Labor Day Weekend Spectacular and Demolition Derby is scheduled for 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 Las Vegas Blvd. North. The event is to include a variety of races. Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and military, $6 for kids and $24 for a family four-pack. Skate park hosts art contest

Teens welcome at SkyJam

Admission is limited to participants 16 or older during SkyJam scheduled from 10 p.m. to midnight every Friday at Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park, 4915 Steptoe St., Suite 400. Dog training classes offered

Let's Be Positive -- Positive Training, a dog orientation class offered by the Vegas Valley Dog Obedience Club, is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at Dog Fanciers Park, 5800 E. Dance and cheer instructors sought

Clark County Parks and Recreation is seeking part-time instructors to teach hip-hop, ballet, jazz dance and cheerleading at the Walnut Recreation Center, 3075 N. Walnut Road. Thai Culture to be celebrated

Thai Cultural Appreciation Day is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. The event will celebrate the 17th anniversary of the Thai Cultural Arts and is set to include dance, music and food. An hourlong performance is set to be followed by a Thai buffet.
