The Sunrise Manor Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hollywood Recreation and Community Services Center, 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd.

Wetlands park to host Guided hike

A guided hike, designed for elementary and middle school children and their parents but open to all, is scheduled from 9:15 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Clark County Wetlands Park, 7050 Wetlands Park Lane near the east end of Tropicana Avenue. Government Surplus Auction planned

A government surplus auction is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 19 at 4320 Stephanie St., near Horseman's Park. The auction includes vehicles, electronic equipment, unclaimed luggage from McCarran International Airport and other surplus items from several government entities.

Statewide Rodeo Competition slated

The Las Vegas High School Rodeo, a statewide competition featuring high school competitors, is scheduled Nov. 18--20 at Horseman's Park, 5800 E. Flamingo Road. The event is free for spectators. For more information, call 455-8206.

Veterans Day Run scheduled

An 11K Veterans Day Run and a one-mile walk is scheduled to begin at 5:11 p.m. Friday at Sam Boyd Stadium, 7000 E. Russell Road. The run is part of a national event with participants in 11 cities. The cost to participate ranges from $11 to $66. For more information, visit veteransdayrun.com.
