BODY FAT TO BE MEASURED FREE AT JAN. 9 EVENT

The Hollywood Recreation Center, 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd., is scheduled to measure residents’ body fat free from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 9.

The test estimates the percentage of body fat by measuring skinfold thickness at specific locations on the body.

COUNTY INSTALLS NEW WETLANDS PARK TRAILS

The Clark County Parks and Recreation Department installed several miles of multi-use trails throughout Clark County Wetlands Park, 7050 Wetlands Park Lane.

The Sunrise Mountain Trailhead at the southern end of Hollywood Boulevard provides the best access point, with trails extending west to the Clark County Wetlands Park Nature Center and east toward Lake Las Vegas, county officials said.

The network of trails includes more than 7 miles of asphalt that eventually connects to the River Mountains Loop Trail. The trailhead also includes a staging area for loading and unloading horses for equestrian use.

NELLIS SUPPORT TEAM MAKES DONATION

Representatives from the Nellis Support Team presented a $24,880 check to Operation Warmheart for its Adopt-A-Family program Dec. 10. The program provides food and toys to needy military families at Nellis and Creech Air Force bases during the holidays.

BANK OF AMERICA TO HOST GIVE A MEAL CAMPAIGN FOR THREE SQUARE

The Bank of America plans to host the Give a Meal Campaign in partnership with the nonprofit Three Square food bank.

For every $1 donated by an individual, Bank of America will match it by $2.

RED BULL AIR RACE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS ON SALE

Tickets are on sale for the 2014 Las Vegas stop of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

The event is scheduled for Oct. 11-12 and is set to feature the world’s best race pilots in a motorsport competition that combines speed, precision and skill. Tickets start at $39.
