Wetlands Park seeks Volunteers
The New Nature Center at Clark County Wetlands Park is seeking volunteers to interact with visitors and explain the significance of the nature preserve. Responsibilities would include interacting with the public, light cleaning and upkeep of the exhibits, assisting staff with special projects and programs. Applicants must be 18 or older and are subject to a background check. Experience in teaching and knowledge of local natural or cultural history can be helpful but is not required.

TOWN ADVISORY BOARDS TO MEET
The Winchester Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. May 28 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.
The Paradise Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. May 28 at the Paradise Recreation and Community Services Center, 4775 S. McLeod Drive.
The Whitney Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. May 30 at the Whitney Recreation Center, 5712 E. Missouri Ave.
The Sunrise Manor Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. May 30 at the Hollywood Recreation and Community Services Center, 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd.

Teen origami club plans meeting
The Teen Origami and Paper Club is set to meet from 5:30 to 6:30 June 3 at the Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave. Teens are invited to show off their origami skills and teach and learn from their peers. For more information, call 702-507-4010.
las vegas motor Speedway to host
Midnight Mayhem racing
Midnight Mayhem is scheduled from 6 to 11:30 p.m. May 31 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
The event is designed to be a safe alternative to illegal street racing and allows drivers to pit their own street vehicles against one another on a drag strip. Races begin at 7 p.m.
The entry fee for races is $15, and admission for spectators is $5.
