EVENT TO OFFER ASSISTANCE ENROLLING IN HEALTH CARE PLAN

The Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave., is set to provide assistance for people to enroll in a health care plan from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. March 10.

In partnership with East Valley Family Services, the library is helping individuals obtain health care benefits under the Affordable Care Act.

The library also is accepting appointments for people to receive assistance with enrollment.

The service is free and is offered to adults and seniors.

LIBRARY CRAFT EVENT TO CELEBRATE TEEN TECH WEEK

Duct Tape Flowers is set for 6 to 7 p.m. March 10 at the Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave., in celebration of Teen Tech Week.

As part of the do-it-yourself theme for this year’s Teen Tech Week, the event will teach attendees how to create 3-D flowers out of duct tape.

The event is open to kids from sixth through ninth grade, and the library will provide all materials.

WALKING TRAIL TO BE EXTENDED

Las Vegas City Councilman Bob Coffin helped break ground Feb. 20 on a pedestrian bridge scheduled to cross Lamb Boulevard at the Las Vegas Wash Trail.

The bridge is part of Phase 2 of the trail construction project that runs along the Las Vegas Wash.

Work on the $2.7 million project includes trail improvements and construction of the pre-fabricated, steel pedestrian bridge across Lamb Boulevard.

The Las Vegas Wash Regional Trail system is part of more than 200 miles of paths planned for the valley.
