Team Ford Lincoln’s Raptor drawing aids charity

Team Ford Lincoln and Operation Fire Holiday Emergency Assistance Team, or H.E.A.T., held a prize drawing for a new, fully loaded 2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor truck. The proceeds of the raffle were added to a fund to help provide holiday toys, gifts and food to children affected by catastrophic fires during the holiday season. This is the fifth year Operation Fire H.E.A.T. has raised money and goods in Southern Nevada.

Linda Poe, a Clark County firefighter, won the vehicle. David Jacoby took second prize, a 2015 Ford Mustang GT, also from Team Ford Lincoln. Since its inception, the charity has raised nearly $50,000.

“For five years, Operation Fire H.E.A.T. has taken care of families in Southern Nevada that have been faced with catastrophic loss due to fire,” said Team Ford Lincoln President Steve Olliges. “To be partnered with a charity like the Operation Fire Holiday Emergency Assistance Team makes the holidays a little more special for all of us here at Team Ford Lincoln.”

In addition to toys, clothes, gifts, food, diapers, formula, school supplies, clothing and toiletries, H.E.A.T. provides Christmas trees to families who celebrate Christmas, along with holiday dinners. Whatever is left over from each family’s allotment of funds is given back to them in the form of gift cards.

After purchasing the toys and necessities, the assistance team uses a fire engine to deliver everything to each family wherever they are staying. During the delivery, children are given tours of the fire engine and the equipment firefighters use.
