Lee Canyon Mountain Fest is planned for Aug. 31 at the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, 6725 Lee Canyon Road. Live music, a beer garden, whiskey tasting, horseshoe competition and barbecue are planned. The cost is $10 in advance and $15 the day of the event. The Las Vegas Harvest Festival’s Arts and Crafts Show is planned from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 6-7 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 8 at Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Crafts are to include woodcarvings, jewelry, pottery, clothing, toys, paintings, food and more. General admission tickets are $9, but attendees who bring in a can of food, baby food, formula or paper products will receive $2. Senior tickets are $7, and children 13-17 are $4. Three sea-based traveling exhibits are set to be on display through August at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, 900 Las Vegas Blvd. North. “Sea Monsters” explores scary characteristics of undersea dwellers; “Discovery Reef” looks at the interconnection of coral reefs; and “Sanctuary Reef” features a replica of a coral reef in the Florida Keys and discusses the human impact on it.
