Wet ‘n’ Wild Las Vegas announced extended Friday and Saturday hours until 10 p.m. through Aug. 23, and a new Dive ‘n’ Movies program that will feature an outdoor family movie by the wave pool on select Fridays through Aug. 23. The Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, 6725 Lee Canyon Road, plans to host Rock the Canyon, a family-friendly fundraiser presented by the Black Patch Motorcycle Club. The event is set to start at noon July 13-14. Live music, a motorcycle rally, vendors and outdoor activities are planned. Proceeds are set to be donated to You Got the Power, an area foundation that helps victims of violence and those who are dealing with trauma. The Neon Museum, 770 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is slated to host the first of an ongoing series of community education programs titled Times of the Signs, with one on Stardust Showgirls, set for July 11. The event, hosted in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Stardust’s opening, is set to begin with a museum members meet-and-greet at 6:15 p.m., followed by a public program at 7 p.m. Panelists include former “Enter the Night” showgirl-turned-attorney Akee Levin, oral historian Joyce Marshall Moore and historian and author Lisa Gioia Acres. Historian Michael Green is scheduled to moderate the discussion. Admission is a suggested donation of $5. Three sea-based traveling exhibits are set to be on display through August at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, 900 Las Vegas Blvd. North. “Sea Monsters” explores scary characteristics of undersea dwellers; “Discovery Reef” looks at the interconnection of coral reefs; and “Sanctuary Reef” features a replica of a coral reef in the Florida Keys and discusses the human impact on it.
