n Firenze Strings is scheduled to perform chamber music from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. In addition to the six women who form the ensemble, four other musicians are set to enhance the performance. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 the day of the show. The center also plans lectures on the history of brothels in the Las Vegas Valley highlighting Roxie's on Boulder Highway scheduled at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. n The Vegas Arts Guild's members show is scheduled to be on display beginning July 17 at the Sunrise Library, 5400 Harris Ave. An opening reception is scheduled from 5 to 6:30 p.m. July 17. The library also plans an "Include Me Puppet Show," a disability awareness and bullying prevention show for preschoolers, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday. n A 60th anniversary screening of the film "Singin' in the Rain" is scheduled at 2 and 7 p.m. Thursday in theaters across the country, including Century 18 Sam's Town, 5111 Boulder Highway, 547-1732; Century Orleans 18, 4500 W. The classic musical film stars Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'Connor in a lighthearted look at the transition from the silent film era to the talkies. "Stephen Sondheim, A Life in the Theater: An Evening of Music and Conversation" is scheduled to bring the iconic composer and lyricist to the center Saturday. In celebration of Sondheim's appearance, music director Bill Fayne and director Andrew Wright plan a cabaret jazz show titled "Putting it Together," featuring Richel Kompst, Lou De Meis, Anne Barr, Brandon Albright and Jay Joseph performing Sondheim's hits Sunday.
