Top sales results in Las Vegas earns Findlay North Volkswagen visit by auto racing stars Scott Speed and Taylor Foust

The renowned Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team made a special appearance last week at Findlay North Volkswagen in the northwest valley.

The promotion drew several hundred fans of all ages featuring team members Scott Speed of 7 Up fame and Tanner Foust of Rock Star fame while highlighting one of the world’s most popular forms of motorsports.

The pair autographed photos, skateboards and helmets for more than an hour in the jam-packed Findlay North showroom.

Findlay North Volkswagen earned the right to have the team at its dealership after being named the No. 1 selling VW dealership in Las Vegas.

The two racing superstars have been at the wheel of 560-horsepower, all-wheel drive GRC Beetles in the Red Bull Global Rallycross Series during the 2014 season.

They have been powering 560-horsepower, all-wheel drive GRC Beetles in the Red Bull Global Rallycross series since May 17-18 when the season opened in Barbados.

Since the season-opener, other events were June 7 in Austin, Texas, June 21-22 in Washington, D.C., July 19-20 in New York City, July 25-26 in Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 2-3 in Detroit, Aug. 22-23 in Daytona Beach, Fla., Sept. 19-20 in Los Angeles, Sept. 26-27 and in Seattle before rounding out the season Nov. 4-5 at the Linq in Las Vegas.

The season’s final race, which marked the third time the season had ended in Las Vegas, was run in conjunction with the massive Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association gathering each November in Las Vegas.

Speed hails from Mt. Holly, N.C., while Foust is from Dana Point, Calif.

Foust is recognized for hosting the U.S. version of Top Gear with his rally driving skills and for his stunt driving. He holds records for distance jumping and looping the loop in a car.

Speed, who runs the 7 UP entry for the Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team, has competed at the very pinnacle of motorsports, driving Formula 1 for Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2006 and 2007. He also competed in NASCAR between 2008 and 2013.

Findlay North Volkswagen is part of Findlay Automotive Group founded more than 50 years ago by the late Pete Findlay, whose son Cliff now oversees new and preowned automobile dealerships in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Oregon and Idaho.

The dealership is headed by General Manager James Cobbs, a native of Shaker Heights, Ohio, who sold his first car in Las Vegas in 1994.
