Utah cop reported missing after fight with wife

The West Jordan Police Department in Utah has asked for the public’s help in finding one of their police officers who might be stranded.

The seven-year veteran officer, Jedediah “JR” Stedman, reportedly left his home Tuesday morning and has not been seen or heard from since. Stedman had been in a verbal altercation with his wife before leaving, according to KSL.

Stedman drives a 1998 Dodge truck with Utah plate B963D. He is described by police as being 5-feet-9-inches tall and 160 pounds. He is 34 years old and has brown eyes and hair.

In a press statement, police said Stedman is an avid outdoorsman and they believe he might be stranded in nearby mountains. He was recently promoted to detective.

Anyone with information should call the West Jordan Police Department at 801-840-4000 with case number 14H018087.
