VA employees placed on leave after mocking disabled coworker

The Phoenix VA is under fire after an employee wore a costume that mocked a co-worker and disabled Marine veteran at a Halloween party. The alleged costume caused two employees to be placed on administrative leave.
Brandon Coleman became a whistleblower after reporting that suicidal veterans weren't getting proper care. An investigation was launched and is still underway. During the process, Coleman has been on paid administrative leave.
These latest allegations came about after a co-worker alerted Coleman about the costume.
"Looks just like me - long hair, ponytail, Marine tattoo, walking with a cane from surgeries. I hurt my foot in the Marine Corps," Coleman said.
Coleman sent a complaint to VA Secretary Bob McDonald and now an investigation is underway.
The VA released the following statement:
"Phoenix VA Health Care System employees are expected to demonstrate our values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect and Excellence, every day, under every circumstance. When allegations are made that we may have fallen short, we'll review the facts and take corrective action as needed."
