Joshua Esposito, a 20-year-old native Las Vegan, recently bought his first vehicle, a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, from Planet Hyundai Centennial in the northwest valley.
“It’s really cool to have my first car,” he said. “The dealership with a complete service department is so close to where I live that it was a natural to shop for my car here.”
He bought a preowned Sante Fe with a six-cylinder engine.
“The interior was in such great condition and so clean, plus the employees here did everything I could have asked for before I took it off the lot,” said Esposito, who also has a job while going to school full time. “In addition, the people at Planet washed it and changed the oil for me.”
Esposito, an accounting major at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, said he had a limited budget and dealership sales consultant Amin Reddic was cordial and helpful.
“I didn’t know what to expect,” Esposito said. “I got a great deal on a terrific car and Amin was extremely helpful. He didn’t pressure me at all he was far different than what I expected of a car salesman.”
Esposito, an avid outdoorsman, said he plans to use his Santa Fe for trips.
“I love to fly fish,” he said. “And the Sante Fe has so much room inside for my belongings. If I lower the back seat, there is plenty of room. In fact, I can lie down without any problem at all.”
The Sante Fe rides very well, he said.
“It drives very impressively and it shifts nicely. It’s a well-made machine and there’s plenty of leg room for me.
“Hyundai stands behind what it builds and I appreciate that,” he said. “My stepmom also has an older Hyundai and it runs just fine.”
Reddic said he enjoys helping all customers, especially those working on a tight budget.
“Instead of just selling a car, you’re helping them with a major purchase and especially someone buying their first car. A transaction needs to be a good experience and I really try to listen. People buy from and recommend to others those people that they like and trust. But the most important part of the transaction is listening to the customer. I learned my technique from Jason Tamburro, who is Planet’s corporate sales trainer.”
Planet Hyundai Centennial is part of a group of locally owned and operated dealerships that also includes Planet Hyundai Sahara at 7150 W. Sahara Ave., and the Planet Hyundai Used Car Super Store at 7100 W. Sahara.
