Video shows special-needs teacher’s aide slapping child

A Northern California teacher's aide has been arrested after video appearing to show her slapping a young boy as two people held him by the arms and legs circulated on social media, according to the Associated Press.

Antioch Police Department arrested the teacher's aide, Kamaljot Kaur, after interviewing the two staff members that were seen holding the boy, student witnesses and the 9-year-old victim.

Detectives say the boy didn't have any visible injuries or complaints of pain.

According to police, the incident took place at Tobinworld II, a nonprofit special-needs school.

This isn't the first time Tobinworld has faced allegations of child abuse, AP reported. Last year, a parent filed a lawsuit against the school after saying his son was abused on campus.

Kaur is being held on suspicion of child cruelty. Her bail was set by a judge at $100,000.
